Mumbai: Benchmark stock indices ended higher on Tuesday, supported by gains in banking and IT stocks amid positive global cues.
Market analysts said steady foreign fund inflows and expectations of a stable interest-rate outlook lifted investor sentiment. Mid-cap and small-cap indices also closed in the green.
The rupee traded in a narrow range against the US dollar during the session.
